RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and coordinate environmental investigation and remediation field activities.
- Oversee subcontractors, drilling crews, laboratories, and other project vendors.
- Coordinate field schedules, mobilizations, and project logistics.
- Ensure field activities are conducted in accordance with approved work plans and health and safety requirements.
- Review and evaluate environmental investigation data including soil, groundwater, vapor, and other environmental media.
- Perform data QA/QC and ensure compliance with project data quality objectives.
- Maintain organized project records and documentation.
- Prepare and support regulatory reports, including investigation reports, monitoring reports, and remedial documentation.
- Assist with preparation of regulatory correspondence and responses to agency comments.
- Ensure project activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain project budgets and track project expenditures.
- Review subcontractor invoices and evaluate costs relative to approved scopes of work.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Coordinate project activities among ELAM staff, subcontractors, and laboratories.
- Provide regular project updates to Risk Managers and Senior Risk Managers.
- Support client communications and regulatory interactions as needed.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline required.
- Master’s degree preferred
Candidates must possess one of the following professional credentials:
- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
- Licensed Professional Geologist (LPG) in the State of Indiana
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Indiana
- Approximately 5–10 years of experience in environmental consulting, site investigation, or remediation project management.
- Demonstrated experience managing environmental field programs and coordinating subcontractors.
- Experience preparing regulatory reports and managing project documentation.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification (current or ability to obtain).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
- Experience working with environmental regulatory programs in Indiana preferred.
- Ability to support projects outside Indiana on an as-needed basis.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to manage environmental field activities and subcontractor performance.
- Solid technical understanding of environmental investigation and remediation practices.
- Ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information through regulatory correspondence, client communications, and internal project coordination.
- Strong written communication skills for preparation of technical reports and regulatory submissions.
- Professional interaction with regulatory agencies, clients, subcontractors, and project staff.
